Distance Nearly Broke Them, Until That Night...

One of the hardest challenges my partner and I have faced in our long distance relationship is the lack of physical presence. There are days when all I want is a hug or to sit next to them, and not being able to do that can feel really heavy. We have also had moments where different schedules and time zones made it tough to connect consistently, which sometimes left one of us feeling a little left out or disconnected.

 

What has helped us is being intentional about communication. We make time for video calls, send random little updates throughout the day, and talk honestly about when we are struggling. We also try to create things to look forward to, like planning visits or doing small activities together online, whether that is watching a movie at the same time or playing a game. Over time we have learned to lean on trust, patience, and creative ways to feel close even when miles apart.
